What am I working on? July 2022

This would be an excellent place to occasionally post updates on all the current and upcoming projects I’m doing. Because sometimes, it can be a while before what I work on comes out, and I want to assure people, clients, and fans that I am indeed working.

This year has included a ton of freelance coloring work.

Over the last few years, I have reduced how much color work I’ve been doing as I’ve concentrated on raising my baby girl and moved to more part-time comic jobs.

I am currently coloring two brand-new properties for veteran creators and new talent. Both projects are very cool, and I’m excited about them. I don’t know how much I am allowed to say, but one project is called COLD SKY, and another is called BEDLAM.

COLD SKY #1

Plus, there have been numerous covers for many creators in both mainstream comics and the indie/crowdfunding world. I can’t even begin to account for them all, but I’m happy with a lot of the work I’ve had the opportunity to do.

MAGIC ORDER

Beyond freelancing, I’m still working on all of my comic creations.

I recently concluded a successful Kickstarter campaign for funding the SAVAGE SASQUANAUT VOL. 1 COLLECTED EDITION. When I’m not coloring, I am getting files prepped and to the printer, putting all the rewards into production, and ordering shipping material for the fulfillment.

I am also working with artists on new properties like GRAVEYARD ORBIT issue 1 and others, as well as outlining future issues.

This weekend I will be attending my second con for the summer. This is a small one-day show in my hometown, and I look forward to a good time.

And in just a couple of weeks, my wife, a teacher, will return to the classroom and start a new teaching job at a new school and in a new grade. So we are getting her loaded with new material to set up her classroom (because teachers pay for it all out of pocket due to a near-total lack of resources given to them by the school system).

We’re looking to have one last hurrah as a family before she starts back full-time and goes back to part-time work.

It’s been a jam-packed summer that has gone by way too fast. But I’m looking forward to completing some of what is currently on my plate and beginning other new work that I’m excited about.

I often take for granted the current cool project(s) I’m on to hurry up for the next cool project. I’d love to enjoy this moment of my work more instead of always looking forward to the next one.
